State Space Representation
State space is one of my favorite topics to teach in my System Dynamics & Controls class!
Once you understand it and know how to implement it, it ‘s a powerful tool. I used it all the time when I was working in industry.
It’ll help you take a higher order differential equation and reduce it down to a manageable system of lower order differentials.
And it just so happens that this new system of equations can be easily written in matrix form and then numerically integrated.
